Colene Martin
Josephine County Commissioner
After years of uncertainty, the work of rebuilding trust is underway, and I will continue to help move us forward.
Appointed in February, I came to the job not with an agenda, but with a commitment: steady leadership, open communication, and decisions made in the public interest.
I'm committed to listening, leading with respect, protecting the long-term strength of our community, and above all, putting Josephine County first.

I was raised in Grants Pass by a family that taught me hard work, integrity, and that service is about responsibility, not recognition. Those lessons have stayed with me through every role I've held, from leading the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce, to being appointed County Commissioner in February 2026.
My husband, Ron, and I chose to build our life here, raise our family here, and pour our time into this community because Josephine County is home. When our county entered a difficult season, I didn't step forward because I seek politics. I stepped forward because I believe in stability, in listening first, and in protecting the future of this place for our children and grandchildren.
Colene's Priorities
for Josephine County
Restoring Trust & Stability
Josephine County has been through enough uncertainty. I was appointed to the commissioner's seat in February with one clear purpose: steady, professional governance that puts the public's business first. I'm already doing the work, and I intend to keep it moving forward.
Strengthening Economic Development
A thriving Josephine County means supporting the small businesses, farms, and job creators who make this community run. I've spent decades working in economic development, and I know that responsible growth starts with regulatory clarity, strong partnerships, and leadership that actually understands how business works.
Ensuring Fiscal Responsibility
Taxpayers deserve accountability, not surprises. I believe in no new tax burdens without voter approval, transparent budgeting, and long-range financial planning that prioritizes essential services first. My focus is on the budget in front of us: honest, sustainable, and built to last.
Bringing Transparency & Accountability
Too many residents have felt ignored by their county government. I believe every resident deserves to be heard, every decision deserves a clear explanation, and every concern deserves a follow-up. Trust isn't rebuilt through slogans. It's rebuilt through consistent, honest action over time.
Prioritizing Public Safety
Public safety has been a personal commitment for years. I've supported law enforcement levies, fought to put deputies back in schools, and I will not allow our county to take a single step backward. Keeping our community safe is written into the county charter, and it's written into everything I do.
